The cameras are used for endoscopic procedures in specialities including Ear Nose and Throat, Laparoscopy, Neurosurgery, Thoracic, Urology, Gynaecology, MIS Spine and Cardiothoracic.

The Stryker 1688 AIM 4K Endoscopy camera is also used extensively in orthopaedic surgery.

It’s an integral tool for our surgeons when they are performing an arthroscopy on a patient. This is a procedure to examine or repair a joint, often a knee or a shoulder.

Keyhole surgery, as it’s known, has several benefits to the patient. The wound is small, the patient has less time under anaesthetic and has a quicker recovery.

However, our surgeons cannot undertake keyhole surgery without these advanced cameras.
